Registered Massage Therapy is a regulated medical profession that emphasizes the prevention, assessment, treatment, and management of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal and soft tissue systems.
An RMT (Registered Massage Therapist) applies massage therapy techniques that focus on treating specific injuries and illnesses, like lower back pain, to improve a patient’s overall health.
During your initial visit, you can expect to discuss your needs and goals with the RMT. They’ll check your posture, muscle tone and strength, flexibility, mobility, and range of motion before deciding how best to approach your treatment plan. They’ll also review your medical history and do a full body assessment.
In subsequent visits, the therapist will continue assessing your condition and determining what treatment best addresses it. The number and frequency of treatments will depend on the severity of your condition, and a massage therapy plan may include massage therapy, stretching exercises, and home care tips.
Types of RMT treatments
Most extended health benefit plans include coverage for Registered Massage Therapy. However, please verify your coverage details, including if a doctor’s referral is required, with your insurance provider as every plan is unique. Registered Massage Therapy may also be covered by your automobile insurance if you have been injured in an automobile accident.
We also accept patients covered through Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) insurance.
We offer direct billing with most insurance companies.
